Cali — the complete feature list

Cali is an offline-first ISO/IEC 17025 calibration-management and metrology platform. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android tablets from one codebase, keeps all of your data and calculations on your own machine, and produces audit-ready certificates and reports. Below is everything it does.

Platform & licensing

• Create, edit, enable/disable and remove users; admins can reset passwords; optional role-expiry for contractors.
• 21 CFR Part 11 controls for regulated (GxP) labs: password policy, password expiry, automatic sign-out, electronic-signature meaning, and a tamper-evident audit trail of every change.

Assets & instruments

• A register of every instrument and gauge — tag, description, manufacturer, model, serial, discipline, location and history, owner/customer, criticality, interval and status.
• Instant overdue and due-next lists with criticality; dashboard indicators.
• Link an asset to its reference standard and to a customer; bulk-import from CSV.

Standards & traceability

• Reference-standards register with the unbroken chain to a National Metrology Institute.
• Standards tree, at-risk and expiring lists; full traceability chain per asset, with gap detection and export.
• An expired standard triggers a "DO NOT USE" watermark in the app and on any certificate it touches.

Procedures (work instructions)

• Controlled calibration methods with version control and full approve / obsolete tracking.
• Rich-text editor; only approved procedures appear in the calibration form; export to PDF.

Schedule

• A visual calibration calendar grouped by discipline.
• Auto-populates a multi-year forward plan per instrument; the next due date rolls forward automatically when a calibration is completed.

Calibrations & uncertainty

• The core workflow: create jobs, add measurement points (with nominal, reading, error, tolerance and pass/fail), and a built-in review & approval flow.
• GUM measurement uncertainty — add Type A/B components and Cali computes the combined and expanded uncertainty (k=2, ~95%) automatically.
• Environmental conditions are recorded on every job and used to correct the result.

Certificates (ISO/IEC 17025)

• Generate the calibration certificate PDF with the uncertainty budget, a drift chart, the traceability chain and the environmental conditions.
• Ten certificate templates, a configurable stamp/seal and business logo, portrait or landscape, and per-document save folders.
• Electronic signature, certificate verification and export.

Measurement reports & SPC

• Dimensional / feature inspection against drawing tolerances, with a parts register and inspection jobs.
• Cp/Cpk capability analysis and signed PDF reports; a non-conformance is raised automatically when a feature is out of spec.

Gage R&R / MSA

• ANOVA-based Measurement System Analysis (AIAG MSA / IATF 16949).
• %GRR, %Tolerance and ndc with an Acceptable / Marginal / Unacceptable verdict and a PDF report; auto-NC on poor repeatability.

Proficiency testing (PT / ILC)

• Track PT schemes and rounds; each round scored with the E_n-number and z-score (ISO 13528 / ISO/IEC 17043).
• Results classified Satisfactory / Questionable / Unsatisfactory, with auto-NC on unsatisfactory and a per-scheme PDF report.

Asset validation — intermediate checks

• Between-calibration confidence checks with Shewhart SPC control charts; out-of-control checks raise a non-conformance automatically.

Automated capture

• Pull readings directly from instruments instead of typing them — captured values feed calibrations and checks.

Environmental monitoring

• Log lab temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure by area, with limits, history and retention; CSV import and scheduled auto-import from a logger folder.
• Pull the latest conditions straight into a calibration; export a conditions-history PDF with a readings table and three trend graphs.

Quality — NC, CAPA & the auditor

• Non-conformance and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) management, each linked to the calibration, report, check or PT round that triggered it.
• A built-in compliance auditor self-checks your data against ISO/IEC 17025 and lists severity-rated findings you can act on in one click.

Reports & analytics

• Due-calibration, standards CMC and utilisation reports; calibration-history analytics and a drift leaderboard; export any report to CSV.

Customers, quotations & email

• Customer / client register with full contact and billing details, shared by quotations and email.
• Quotations with a service catalogue, terms templates and a quote PDF (line items, tax, totals).
• Email & reminders from your own SMTP, Gmail or Microsoft 365 account — send certificates and reports, and automatic due/overdue reminders.

Integrations

• SAP PM/QM two-way: pull equipment from SAP and push calibration results back.

The maths inside

• GUM uncertainty (ISO/IEC Guide 98-3), condition-corrected results (thermal expansion, temperature and air-buoyancy), and predictive recalibration intervals from drift analytics.
• Gage R&R (ANOVA), Cp/Cpk capability, PT E_n/z (ISO 13528) and Shewhart SPC — verdicts based on the true, corrected value.

Documents you can produce
